Foundation: Founded in 2003 as the first and only public university of the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg
Profile: The University is multilingual, international and strongly focused on research. Its students and researchers have chosen a modern institution with a personal atmosphere, close to European institutions, international companies and the financial place.

International Relations: 60 general university agreements for student exchange with universities in Europe, Asia and North America as well as 214 ERASMUS agreements for different programmes. Undergraduate students have to spend at least one semester abroad.

Number of students: Approx. 6200 students (3300 Bachelor, 1200 Master, 550 PhD, 1140 others) end of 2014.
Student nationalities: A total of 107 different student nationalities; 44,3% from Luxembourg, 44,7% from other EU27 countries, 11% from Non-EU countries.
Enrolment fee: No tuition fees for foreign students; enrolment fee generally 400 euros in semester 1 and 2, 200 euros for all other semesters.
